This video was made in September 2026 so is contextual to (hopefully) as things stand/stood then. It is an observation about human – LLM interactions in work, based on an analogy from a study on heuristics in a small scale hiring decisions (2019). The analogy is what I have found a useful reframe:

Gigerenzer said Risk is like chess, there are rules - a finite set of knowns, consequences, possible happenings. Uncertainty – equivalent to the queen stepping off the board, setting fire to the rook.

There are two problems at either end of a spectrum, we’re over-trusting calculus from the LLM and over-trusting human intuition when the former was maybe the right move.

Takeaway: Life will be engulfed in a lot of uncertainty, but, we can mitigate risk along the way.
